Update for Crossing the Line, the Urban Fantasy Novel by Sean D. Daily, for March 22, 2012

Crossing the Line, the Urban Fantasy Novel by Sean D. Daily

Not much to report today, as opposed to yesterday. However, we are setting our unnamed hero up for a king-hell gonzo revelation, which should come either today or tomorrow.

Our hero crashed off into the reserve after Thornapple, who was carrying Misty off to an unknown destination. It quickly turned into an uphill chase, with the air getting thinner and colder and the ground steeper and rockier. The reserve didn’t make it any easier for him. Branches and vines seemed to materialize out of thin air, and he had to crash through more thorns and brambles than he knew existed in the whole of the Spring Mountains.

Things got dicier when our hero and Thornapple came across a dwarf and ogre, both dressed in camouflage and both armed to the teeth. Thornapple killed them without breaking stride, leaving our hero to wonder what the hell he’d gotten himself into.

Our hero finally crested a hill and stood on a knife-like ridge down into a valley that he was sure hadn’t existed before the war. The air was cool and wet, and the valley itself filled with broadleafed trees that had no damn business in the Mohave – elms, maples, oaks, you name it.

An unseen sniper took that moment to snipe at our hero. Dodging bullets, he plunged into the valley after Thornapple, and whatever his destination is.

To be continued tomorrow.

About Sean D. Daily

Sean Daily was a mild-mannered social marketer in Las Vegas until a freak laboratory accident at the Spearmint Rhino gave him writing powers and abilities beyond those of mortal men. Since it's hard to fight crime with writing powers and abilities beyond those of mortal men, though, he decided to become a speculative fiction writer instead. He's currently working on the urban fantasy novel "Crossing the Line" and the science fiction comic book "Sidestep".
